Shoe-b-shoe
I decided to go and have a browse in Shoe-b-shoe this morning to see if anything caught my eye. I did find a lovely pair of shoes out on show so I said Excuse me to the Sales Lady can you help me I would like to know if you have this is my size. I was very surprised that she more or less told me she couldn't be bothered and that I should bend down and search for my size in the pile of boxes myself. I could have understood if the Sales assistant was busy, but she wasn't. This particular lady should be very happy that she has in fact got a job at all. I might add if she keeps this attitude up she will lose customers for the shop.
I have been going in this shop for quite a while now - it was previously 100 yards further down the same road, and there used to be two very nice friendly ladies that worked there. They would greet you as you walked in the shop, ask if you needed any help etc etc. I am sorry to say that I will not be rushing back with the new staff's attitude.
Next time you go in Shoe-b-shoe, ask to speak to nancy, who is the manager, she will be very upset that you where not treated very well.
I am a typical male shopper know what I wont ask exspect help from staff. Normally buy all my shoes in this shop. Today got told to look at the boxes. So I just walked out. We men exspect to be given a little help.
I am sorry but I do not feel that someone should have to go back in and complain about bad service, it should not have happened in the first place. It is a sad fact of life that people think we owe them a living. We can spend our money where we choose, if I get bad service I do not go again. End of story.
well I wont be hurrying back there...will stick to 'market' shoes....good value and if they fall apart....I go and buy another pair!!
I will going myself have a word with Nancy, also it is up to anyone where spend their money I agree with that. But like I said before nancy will be very up set by the comments
Well I wont be going back there again - they should feel lucky to have a job. They should take a leaf out of Leroy Merlins staff in Elche - their customer service is second to none that I have experienced in Spain, it is fantastic, they all know their products and ask if you need help with a smile on their faces. If you dont speak Spanish they go and find an English speaker !! - Shoe B Shoe should sack their staff and get people in who want a job and want to work -
I agree with you Susan. We've always found the shop very helpful. My husband is the bane of their lives as he goes there for cards and slippers for me. I love him to death but if I had a shop I'd bar him but all the ladies in "Shoe b shoe" are lovely with him and we've had some super bargains. It Appears they reduce their stock till it's gone. If you mlive here don't give up, tell Nancy. If we don't support our local businesses don't moan when we lose them x
As I stated in my original post I have supported this shop for quite some time and when the other two ladies were there it was an absolute pleasure to go in and look round plus one could also have a nice friendly chat. But today was a completely different scenario. I will be taking my custom to Salvador in Elche - a much better selection of shoes etc. and very friendly and helpful staff.
Love the staff there - I have a proshetic leg and the other foot has no nerves so it's very difficult to find fashionable looking shoes that fit and are so cheap. The staff there have always been extremely helpful and helped to search for the right shoes - wish I could get there more. I realise that my experience doesn't change the experience of another.
I must be thick or something.....I ask again, who is Nancy?????It appears everyone knows her except me! I find all staff in all shops round here very helpful and pleasant,,and you can have a joke with most of them.
I've always experienced nice friendly service when I have been shopping in there, but luckily for me I have usually been served by the nice scottish lady, who I believe is the manager.
Ian has just bought a pair of shoes - nothing posh - just to wear everyday and to be comfortable. He actually got them in the shop to the right of the Card shop up the strip (Nr Jacks Bar). A very nice lady helped him and nothing was too much trouble. He thought he was one size, then tried another and eventually the next size. But the lady was extremely nice and pleasant AND Helpful. WHY - because she wanted the sale and she got it. Thank you. We will be coming back to your shop.
I agree with Carol. The lady who runs the shop next to Jason's card shop is so helpful. If you dont see what you are looking for just ask and she usually has it in stock. It's a little treasure trove. Must be something about that area. All the shops nearby seem to be run by helpful and friendly people.
Why give up on the shop, surely everyone is entitle to an off day. You have had good service in the past so has everyone else, So dont be a Queenbee and support our local shops.
The shop near the card shop IS a local shop surely. Or, am I missing the point here?
Sorry I disagree with you Mazza. In business you cannot afford to have bad days. If you have them, you suffer the consequences.
we should all be supporting our local shops and bars and yes the lady next to the card shop is brilliant which is probably why she is still in business that shop has practically everything you need it is indeed a treasure trove.
I have this morning been to see Nancy who is the manager of Shoe-b-shoe, and advised her about all your comments on this wall, Nancy was very up set. Nancy will be looking at this webasite.
Ihave to come to the defence of Shoe be shoe,I have been buying my footwear and other items there since they first opened. I have always had a warm welcome & lots of help when I have been there, even if I did not buy anything. Also their little cafe is very good.Whoever went there and were not happy about the staff should have said something at the time, not doing the usual thing on this site and moaning aboutit.There are ways of complaining and one of them is to do it face to face, not on here.Christine Robinson
Unfortunatley, in this day and age anyone who stands up for themselves in this kind of situation usually gets the tables turned on them and are accused of having an attitude problem! Hence the only suitable answer is ...walk away... I agree this site is full of moaners.. but if they are just stating the facts there is nothing wrong with that...whats the old saying..'truth hurts' !
My o my what a long posting this has turned in to. CHRIS - if you would care to read my original posting I also stated that I had been going to this shop for a long time and I also had received a warm welcome from the other two ladies that worked there. BUT, on this occasion they were not there. I was only pointing out my experience on that particular day. When one is practically ignored when asked for assistance, I prefer to leave and go elsewhere where my custom is appreciated and NOT to complain face to face and cause a scene with everybody watching. That is not how I like to act in public.
Queenbee, the name suits. I went in yesterday to see the Manager Nancy, I asked to speak to her outside the shop so that the others customer & staff could not hear what I had to say. You are making excuse as not going and seeing the manager. Like I say the name suit you
Susan my Dear - how on earth was I suppose to know that there was a Manageress in the shop at the time, and even if I did, I certainly would not have wasted my time on asking to see her. I only went in to see if I wished to buy a pair of shoes after all - not to do battle with anyone.
To be honest Susan, I really do not care if you like my name or not. This is my last posting on this subject as I'm sure people on this forum are getting very fed up with this now.
Well said Queenbee. Not everyone likes confrontations. Some people are quite timid but that does not mean to say they should accept bad service. Queenbee does not owe anyone a living and if she wants to put her experiences on the forum then she should feel free to do so. Everyone else does. Susan pointed out that Nancy, the Manager of the shop, was going to read the forum so why has she not commented herself about this.
Exactly. Adam...and I agree with you Queen bee..why Susan do you feel the need to be disrespectful and sarcastic...I refer to my earlier post, 'walk away'..
If you feel that I am disrespectful and sarcastic, that is your opinion, how can any one put something right, when you do not bring to the managers attention or any ones attention.
As I pointed out previously, not everyone likes confrontations. It should not have happened in the first place. People who get paid to do a job should do it properly then there would not be a need to put it right. The Manageress could apologise on the forum if she was interested.

Adam - although I am rather flattered I am also quite at a loss for words (unlike me I know) and how to reply other than I am most certainly not footloose and fancy free (as you put it). I would like to point out that even if I was, I would certainly not meet up with somebody I did not know from a forum such as this.

I´m very disappointed that anyone had a bad experience in our shop, we always try to ensure that our customers have a pleasurable shopping experience. We maybe dont always have what you are looking for but we try our best to get it, or an alternative.
After being informed of the incident, and reading the comments on this forum, appropriate action was taken with the staff who were working the shift on which it occurred.
To allow further action to be taken against the individual, an official complaint is necessary, which requires a form to be completed in our book. I was hoping that QueenBee would come into the shop to discuss this.
I would like to stress that this incident is totally out of character for any of our staff, who have worked for Shoe B Shoe for a minimum of 2 years, we always try to be welcoming, pleasant and helpful to all our customers.
Our customers are very important to us.
Again I would like to apologize for this unfortunate incident.
At last - well done Nancy and well written - will Queenbee visit the shop ?? we'll see

I think we can all call it a day now complaint was made and looked into,answer given,which seems fair enough.
I shouldnt think Queenbee will make an official complaint,and that is not because she is "all talk and no trousers"but she made a complaint ,it was looked into ,staff were spoken to regarding incident,they will be under no illusion that jobs are hard to come by.Hopefully it will be case closed.
Just want to add, I went to Shoe b Shoe this p.m.Nancy told me she had made a reply to all the comments. The shoes I would have liked to buy were not available in my size, so their other shop in Punta Prima were contacted to see if they were in stock there,good customer service.
All staff have been very upset about some of the comments made on this site, so let's hope this is the end now that Nancy has replied. Christine Robinson

Thanks Sue and Irene. I think it is now Bargain Brands, but might be the same owners as Shoe B Shoes. I tried the number but no reply. I will try tomorrow. Nothing sinister, I am trying to urgently locate the owner of the premises that Shoe B Shoe had in Javea. I have fond memories of the La Marina RBL Branch.

I used to use this shop all the time but now when i go in there i can never see anything i like, this shop has definitely gone down hill
I really don't think the place has gone downhill,..the new shop manager (kate) is one of the nicest people you could ever meet,...Yes the name has changed, but as they have diversified into more products than basically just shoes i guess that is justified,...i feel some women will not like the new shop as it has cut down on the quantity of shoes,( that you women buy on a whim,wear them once and relegate them to the back of the wardrobe with the other 50 pairs you bought last year) to sell some other bargain attire products,...boy am i gonna get it in the neck off the die hard feminists!! hehehe,..just having a laugh
same here, used to be very good but now I am sorry to say the choice is pants, very expensive for what it is and you can find much better choice on market stall anywhere else...
OMG I hope this is the end of this Saga as I have been getting notifications about this posting for 6 months now.
Does anyone know the name or number of the shoe shop that's opened in consum square. Think its the same shop as bargain brands/shoo be shoe, but can't find anything on the Internet.
I'm pretty sure the shop does not have a phone line,...why do you need the number?? Is it to check up on the stock of flip flops??...hehehe

Flip-flops are great until you try to walk backwards then your Flops flip, which is not funny if you're trying to reverse with your wheelbarrow full of wet cement :-((

Had the same prob myself a while ago...they really carnt be bothered...when I asked about a pair of shoes in my size they just said 'NO' no customer relations in there then!!!
