Electricity conpanies in Spain must carry out meter readings every 2 months, the government has ruled. With the new rule, electricity companies will no longer be able to estimate consumption more than one month at a time - as it was doing - without express consent from the customer.

If you have a few hours to spare on the weekend, pop down to Casa La Pedrera the Grand Design House and soak up the atomosphere of the Music, Arts & Craft Festival. It runs all day until 6 and there is an opening and a closing performance both with a spanish flavour. If you have never experienced the true ´flamenco´ you need to be here at 4.00pm on Saturday to see the ´Gypsey King´ from Sevilla, who is the real deal. He has a huge spanish following and has never played to english before, so we need to show him that we can ´Fiesta´like the rest of them. So tell all your friends, there is plenty to see and do, craft fair, art exhibition, and for the kids pony, quad rides and our hay ride with trips to the lake. An all day bbq, plus wood fired paella in the true Valencian tradition. The raffle prizes truly amazing and includes hand made jewellery, paintings etc. & all those entering receiving a free sample of the spanish Liquor, Licquor 43... So much to do, see and hear,,, you cannot afford to miss it!!! We are less than 15 mins from Quesada, quickest way is jump onto the AP7 towards Categena, and take the next exit which is Los Montesinos, follow the signs for Orihuela/Bigastro and its just left after the Vista Bella/La Fortaleza Rest. or simply drive right through Los Montesinos, over the motorway again following the signs to Bigastr/Orihuela. Weekly Events

We get together every Thursday night at The Courtyard, Filton Centre. Los Balcones for an evening of entertainment, fun a laughter and in my case murder a few songs with DJ Jay and his karaoke.

Monthly Events

We get together at El Mundos, in Benimar for an afternoon being entertained by the fabulous Spanish Duo Bella Luna.

SANGRIA - RECEIPE - BASIC

Basic Sangria Recipe
A very simple, basic sangria recipe. While this sangria is delicious as is, this recipe intentionally leaves ample room for improvisation and additions, and should therefore be used as a springboard to create your own unique sangria recipes. The unaltered basic sangria recipe below, however would meet with the approval of strict sangría traditionalists.
Makes 4 glasses
Difficulty: Very easy
Preparation time: 10 minutes

Ingredients
3 1/4 cups ( 26 fl. oz) dry red wine
1 tablespoon sugar
Juice of 1 large orange
Juice of 1 large lemon
1 large orange, sliced thin crosswise
1 large lemon, sliced thin crosswise
2 medium peaches, peeled, pitted and cut into chunks
1 cup (8 fl. oz) club soda
Preparation
Combine all the ingredients except for the club soda in a large punch bowl or serving pitcher, mixing well. Refrigerate overnight. Immediately before serving, mix in the club soda for added fizz. Ladle into cups with ice cubes.
