Just out of curiosity, If there was an association to represent the bars & restaurants, what would you, or anyone else who would like to comment, like to see it achieve ?

Unfortunately, The Bar and Restaurant owners appear to be there own worst enemies, Without picking and naming the guilty parties, until you lot stop the in fighting, you will not notice the crap and lies that this Council and Valencia are telling you, and as yet I have not seen one report of any owner telling these people that when they agree to talk and only talk the truth, that you will have the quietest meetings, you have ever had. Stop accepting these lies they constantly make up, and ask for proof of things like how many bars are in fighting (a lot different to when they tell you how many complaints they receive) How many complaints from different people (a lot different from how many complaints) and of course the oldest and silliest one when you are told that almost all the complaints are from long standing owners who were never told of bars that would be built near there homes. That is for starters, To save you checking I have supported the bars 100% because I believe they have a right to live. Apart from the price of my house going down if all bars closed, I have no other ultimate interest.
So really until you can all unite, You aint gonna get sweet f.a. out of the local or regional mob.

That is the point, because a couple of years ago, another lie put about by our Council was that Valencia had told tem that they had received 70 complaints about bar noise, everyone it was claimed was from la Marina,and not one other complaint was received, from anywhere else in the Valencian Region (havn't worked out if the council lied to us or Valencia lied to everybody, But someone lied) so I don't know why these areas are trying to commit political suicide, but once you start accepting lies from those in power, it becomes a disease and it seems everybody in power jumps on the band wagon,Why? I do not know, but obviously it must be called mis use of power.
Don't accept what the council, local or regional say, as the truth, question them and what they say, and if they bother to try to answer you,just watch the body language as they sqirm and try to wriggle out of all the untruths that come out of there mouths

The problem is not just in La Marina as all councils in the region are now liable for compensation claims from residents if they issue incorrect licences or fail to cut down the noise pollution, which can be many thousands of euros per resident, therefore if the council fail to tell the police to crack down on the noise they themselves will be liable and guess where the compensation gets paid from....your councils budget, to say that the police do not listen to the council is absurd, but the complaint must be investigated and stopped. It seems that the noise haters are going to win regardless of wether they bought a house opposite a bar or the bar came later, if you talk on the terrace too loudly or have the telly loud you could have the bar fined or closed, so folks it seems that the sad people who want to die quietly in a mausoleum will get their wish as that is what La marina and all other towns are going to become.
To say that the council is trying to help you solve the problem is hogwash, as they are the ones liable if the compensation claims get awarded to the moaning residents.

I suppose it is something to do with being in Spain. I keep on reading that you cannot do this or cannot do that because of the Law in Spain, yet when I ask for anybody who has a copy of that law, I have been met with a stony silence.
So yet again I ask for anyone who has proof of the Valencian Law that says if a bar makes noise,the owner can be fined several thousand Euros, and the the Council can be ordered to pay a sum of money to the person who complained. If this is how I read Richie's words (I don't disbelieve him) then does it also mean any noise by anyone, that is considered to be creating a noise nuisance by another person.
If so can I put in for advance payments for my compensation, for all the local and not so local Fiestas, Which are in full swing at the moment, Of course without being told the Law nobody will be able to argue with me about noise limits, So come on keep us all in the loop and spill the beans, otherwise it is just rumours we are all listening to.
